This is the book I just finished and it is awe-inspiring and beautiful and compelling and engaging. I really loved it, if you couldn't tell! It is nearly 1000 pages long, so it is a bit of a commitment, but well worth it if you like to be taken to another time and place, all the while empathizing and agonizing with some amazing characters.

Sounds interesting...is that Canterbury Cathedral?
I believe the picture is from the Salisbury Cathedral-I got it from google...but the novel is about a cathedral built in Kingsbridge. This may be the one from the novel. I don't know, but I think you'd love the book.
Might be a great book to take on my 18 hour marathon to get to Paris next Friday! I might just need to sneak down to Salisbury while I am in London...
I am so glad you loved it! It will remain a favorite of mine I think forever. What are you going to read next?! That's what's always hard is finding the perfect follow up book, to a book that was so great!
