Winter Wonderland

We had a bunch of new snow on Friday night and then continuous flurries yesterday for the MLK holiday. I try to be excited about snow through February since that is technically still winter, according to the musical "Camelot". But despite my cheery snowman decorations and my insistence that I like seasonal climates I'm having trouble with all the coldness.

My sister emailed me to "have fun with the snow" but I'm too cold to have fun! It's BEAUTIFUL, but I need the high to be at least greater than 19 and the low higher than -2 to "have fun". Send some global warming our way...

At least Baby Sarah(Bitty Baby) is dressed for the weather. Can you tell Rachel is sick? She has to miss school today-darn it, it's only once a week. She's got a cough, fever, and runny nose and by Rachel's own assessment..."I not feel so well." Poor Rachel. Keep smiling. This too shall pass.

Hey Kim, sorry to hear the weather has you down. If it makes you feel better, Massachusetts has been a freezer lately, too. Just a few months left of it... ugh.

You're right, and look at the options of not living in the cold-Florida or California or Arizona. I DON'T think so...

I'd love to live in California, Napa Valley or San Diego would be so sweet. Once I find a few million dollars maybe I will.

My company has an opening in Colorado Springs! You're doing a poor job of convincing me to try to take it.

Allison would never move out West again, would she? You can blame me or the weather but I know the truth. And I have to admit, no matter how much I complain, no weather's as bad as CT. I hate the cold humidity that chills to the bone and the brutal hot humidity in the summer. Keep it dry for me! Anyway, consider tranferring out here and then our kids will have cousins to grow up with. Wouldn't that be grand?

P.S. You would hate all the traffic and commuting that has to happen if you live in CA. You hate to commute more than anyone!

Having Ben and Jake around McGuire is my main reason for being tempted in the first place! I'm sure Archer could eventually hang with the older kids, or maybe he and Rachel could learn to play nice.

Did I tell you about the time we went to Temple Square between Christmas and New Year? It had been a dry winter, maybe it was last year. Anyway, we were talking to the sister missionaries. We talked about where they were from, California, I think, and Nigeria. We were commenting on how sad it was that they had not been able to experience the fabled "white Christmas". Trying to be optomistic about the precipitation in the upcoming winter months, I found myself verbally hoping for them to experience a white Martin Luther King Day. It was at this point that Alex dragged me away...

Very nice, "a White MLK day!" Who will drag you away when Alex goes to college?
